Expected results

MEP has the following educational objectives:

1.  To form traditional universal human and cultural-moral values, professional and ethical responsibility, critical thinking skills, self-organization and self-education.

2.  To provide a graduate with basic theoretical and clinical knowledge and skills in sphere of treatment-and-prophylactic and medical care, to prepare him/her for post-graduate and further continuing medical education and implementation of partnership relations in healthcare.

3.  Prepare a specialist capable of performing the functions of a general practitioner, namely prevention, diagnosis and treatment of patients, possessing organizational, managerial and educational skills, as well as research and development skills aimed at preserving and improving health of population, corresponding to the needs of  South East Asian market and the requirements of international standards.

The results of MEP fulfilment are determined by competencies acquired by the graduate, i.e. his/her ability to apply knowledge, skills and personal qualities in accordance with the tasks of professional activity. Accordingly, the objectives of the MEP are assigned the following learning outcomes (LO):

Learning Outcome 1: Ability to apply basic knowledge in the field of fundamental, natural sciences in professional activities, and possession of general professional competencies.

Learning Outcome 2: Ability to apply basic knowledge in the field of diagnostic, therapeutic, rehabilitation and research activities.

Learning Outcome 3: Knowledge of  forms and methods of sanitary and educational work, the ability to apply social, hygienic, medical and statistical methods for information collection and analysis; the ability to carry out preventive and anti-epidemic measures.

Learning Outcome 4: Ability to apply modern information technologies in professional activities.

Learning Outcome 5: Ability to apply basic knowledge in the field of psychological and pedagogical activity.

Learning Outcome 6: Ability to apply communication skills in professional activities.

Learning Outcome 7: Ability to apply basic knowledge in the field of organizational and management activities.

Learning Outcome 8: Ability to apply basic knowledge from the field of social, humanitarian, economic disciplines in their professional activities, possess own general cultural competences.

Learning Outcome 9: Ability to carry out their activities in accordance with the accepted moral and legal norms in society.
