From May 15-19, 2019, the International Research and Practical Conference was held on "Innovations in Cardiac Surgery: from the finger mitral commissurotomy to the implantation of high-tech devices". It was dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Academician I.K. Akhunbaev, the 60th anniversary of the first heart operation in Central Asia and the 15th anniversary of the Scientific Research Institute of Heart Surgery and Organ Transplantation (RIHSOT) of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, organized by the Scientific Research Institute of Infrastructure and Education with the support of the International School of Medicine (ISM).
Outstanding scientists of the world became participants of the conference: a cardiac surgeon, an academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, professor Bokeria L.А. (Moscow, Russian Federation), Professor Dzhoshibaev S.D. (Taraz, Kazakhstan) proudly shared their memories of their mentor I.K. Akhunbaev.
The conference was attended by Professor Huo Yong (China); Professor Ennker Yu. (Oldenburg, Germany), Professor Cholponbayev KS (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan), Professor Kim A.I. (Moscow, Russian Federation), Frenkel G.R. (Israel), Professor Z.I. Ashimov (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan), Professor Baygezhin AB (Astana, Kazakhstan).
The conference program included various master classes on topical issues of cardiac surgery, moreover, the exhibition of the latest medical equipment and presentations by pharmaceutical companies were held.

The conference was concluded with a traditional bike ride on the route of Bayet, Toru-Aygyr village, Issyk-Kul region with laying flowers on to the monument of I.K. Akhunbaev.
