The national literature day at the IHSM

The National Literature Day is a rather young holiday: it was first celebrated in 2013. 

The holiday is dedicated to the memory of a major global and national literary figure; Chyngyz Aitmatov, who was born on the 12th of December. 
A festive evening at the Department of Humanities was held to mark the 94th anniversary of the birth of Chyngyz Aitmatov.The evening was an opportunity to celebrate Chyngyz Aitmatov’s life, acquaint students with his work, and increase overall public interest in reading books.

The event was attended by honorary guests: 

  • Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and State Language of the IHSM, D.Sc, Professor Uzakov O.Zh.;
  • Dean of the IHSM Satarkulova A.M.
  •  Head of the Department of the State Language of the IHSM Zairkulova R.Zh.;
  •  Head of the Department of Pathology Moldotasheva G.S.;
  • Representatives of other departments of  the IHSM. 

 

Students presented an introduction about Chyngyz Aitmatov, sang songs inspired from his writings, displayed excerpts from his books in 5 different languages 

Vice-Rector, Dean, and teachers voiced their gratitude and praised the seamless performance of the students and the great effort of the teachers to achieve this excellent outcome. 

An art exhibition dedicated to Chyngyz Aitmatov was also put on display to showcase the creativity of our students, who will be given certificates to acknowledge their efforts and as a sign of our appreciation.
