Victims of repression
On November 5, 7, 8, 1938, prominent state figures who contributed to the foundations of the Kyrgyz state were shot in the vicinity of the village of Chon-Tash: Zhusup Abdrakhmanov, Murat Saalikhov, Osmonkul Aliyev, Bayaly Isakeev, Kasym Tynystanov, Erkinbek Esenamanov, Torokul Aitmatov, Imanaaly Aidarbekov and 130 other similar people were killed.
Together with the best sons of the Kyrgyz people, representatives of 55 nationalities died in Chon-Tash: Russians, Ukrainians, Uighurs and others. In 1937-1938, about 40 thousand people were repressed and shot in Kyrgyzstan. Among them were the military, lawyers, doctors, in one word, those who became the best in their field, they were removed. Among them was the great Kyrgyz cardiac surgeon Isa Akhunbaev. He was only 28 years old when he was put in prison. After spending 7-8 months in prison, they could not find evidence against him and were forced to release him.
