IHSM confirms its high research status by successfully passing attestation

On April 23, 2026, the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) successfully passed the attestation of its research activities conducted by the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) under the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic.

This attestation was carried out in accordance with Order No. 384 of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic dated December 24, 2025, and aimed to confirm the university’s readiness to establish its own dissertation councils.

The commission included: Chairperson — Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Ch.A. Bazaralieva, Head of the Attestation Department for Medical and Biological Sciences of the HAC under the Ministry; Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor M.A. Sagymbaev; Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor M.M. Karataev; Doctor of Medical Sciences, Senior Researcher K. Mukanbaev; and Candidate of Medical Sciences Oskon uulu Aibek.

The IHSM working group, led by Vice-Rector for Science, State Language and Language Policy, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor O.Zh. Uzakov, ensured the university’s full readiness for the commission’s visit. As part of the program, IHSM Rector, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor S.M. Akhunbaev, presented the university’s research development strategy.

A comprehensive assessment was conducted to evaluate IHSM’s compliance with established criteria, including the availability of qualified academic staff holding doctoral and candidate degrees, the functioning of postgraduate and doctoral programs, and the presence of academic councils. The commission visited the Clinical Simulation Center, the “Vedanta” Medical Center, and the IHSM Human Genetics Laboratory, where members reviewed modern equipment and conditions for conducting clinical research.

Special attention was given to the publication activity of faculty members in international databases such as Web of Science and Scopus, as well as the availability of approved textbooks and monographs.

Based on the results of the evaluation, IHSM was confirmed to meet all key indicators. The successful completion of the HAC attestation represents a significant achievement for the International Higher School of Medicine. It confirms the university’s right to establish dissertation councils in the declared fields, which will significantly expand opportunities for training scientific personnel and strengthen IHSM’s academic reputation on the international stage.
