The Genius of the Universe – The World of Aitmatov

On December 12, 2024, the Department of Humanities at IHSM hosted a theatrical literary evening titled “The Genius of the Universe – The World of Aitmatov” to mark the 96th anniversary of the great Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov’s birth and honor Kyrgyz National Literature Day.

This holiday, celebrated since 2013, is dedicated to the memory of Chyngyz Aitmatov, a global literary icon and a national treasure. The evening provided an opportunity to introduce our students to this great author’s life and works, igniting a passion for literature and reading.

Highlights of the Event:

• Students performed poetry, monologues, and excerpts from Aitmatov’s books in the Kyrgyz language.
• A drawing competition inspired by his works and an art exhibition showcasing our students’ creativity.
• Songs inspired by his writings added a melodic touch to the evening.

The Head of the Department, Nuriya N. Alymkulova, delivered a heartfelt speech, congratulated everyone on Kyrgyz National Literature Day, and presented certificates and gifts to the winners of the drawing competition and active participants.

This memorable event celebrated the greatness of Aitmatov’s legacy, inspiring our students to delve deeper into his profound literary contributions. Let’s continue to cherish and share the works of Chyngyz Aitmatov, a true genius of world literature.
