IHSM and «Bishkek Sanitary Landfill» Establish Partnership for Sustainable Waste Management
The International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) and the Municipal Enterprise “BishkekSanitary Landfill” have officially signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at advancing sustainable waste management practices in Kyrgyzstan.
This strategic partnership is focused on the development of joint initiatives in the following key areas:
1. Promotion of sustainable waste management, including the sorting, recycling, and disposal of plastic and paper waste.
2. Joint development and implementation of project proposals aimed at educating IHSM students and staff on sustainable consumption practices and reducing the use of plastics and paper products;
3. Fostering a culture of environmental responsibility by encouraging separate collection of waste and raising public awareness around recycling;
4. Implementation of waste separation practices across IHSM campuses.
The agreement builds on IHSM’s involvement in the Erasmus+ CBHE “Green and Digital Universities for Sustainable Development of Kyrgyzstan” (GREENKG) project, co-funded by the European Union.
This collaboration marks a significant step toward creating environmentally conscious IHSM community. It aligns with Kyrgyzstan’s national priorities on green growth, environmental safety, and the adoption of resource-saving and energy-efficient technologies as outlined in the government’s Green Economy Development Program.
