Requiem Lesson Dedicated to Victory Day

News Humanities Department
On April 29, 2026, the Department of Humanities of the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) held its traditional requiem lesson dedicated to Victory Day.

The event became a tribute of deep respect to the courage, resilience, and heroism of all those who fought in the Great Patriotic War, as well as a recognition of the great contribution of the Kyrgyz people to the common Victory.

Students from different courses gathered together to remember the tragic and heroic pages of history, feel the power of unity, and realize the value of peace. Archival footage from the war years helped recreate the atmosphere of that time and deeply moved the audience. The memory of the fallen heroes was honored with a minute of silence.

Teachers shared stories about their relatives who had participated in the war. Their portraits were displayed on a specially prepared memorial stand. A special video titled “Immortal Regiment”, dedicated to the relatives of IHSM staff and teachers who took part in the Great Patriotic War and contributed to Victory, was also presented.

During the event, special attention was paid to the international significance of Victory. Participants were told about India’s contribution during the war years, the bravery of Indian soldiers, and the support of the Allied forces, which allowed students to look at the scale of historical events and the importance of unity among nations from a new perspective.

As part of the event, a drawing competition on military themes was also held. The best works were recognized, and all participants received certificates.

Holding the requiem lesson and celebrating Victory Day has become a good and meaningful tradition of the Department of Humanities, which for many years has united students from different countries around the universal values of memory, gratitude, and peace.

We remember. We are proud.
