On May 17, 2025, the Surgery Department of the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) at the Issyk-Kul Campus successfully held an intra-university Surgical Olympiad for 6th–7th semester students. The event was aimed at developing practical surgical skills, enhancing clinical thinking, and increasing interest in the surgical specialty.
The competition consisted of four tasks:
Based on the results of all stages, winners and prize-winners were determined, demonstrating a high level of preparation. The winners were awarded diplomas and commemorative prizes from IHSM. All participants received certificates of participation.

- Surgical Knot Tying. Participants demonstrated techniques for tying single and continuous surgical knots. Speed, knot strength, and time were assessed.
- Suturing Techniques. The task involved performing skin and intestinal sutures on simulation models.
- Desmurgy (Bandaging). Students applied various types of bandages to the limbs and head.
- Clinical Case Scenarios. Contestants were given clinical cases requiring diagnosis, treatment.
