On December 2nd, 9th-semester students visited the Human Cytogenetics Department of International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) as part of their Molecular Biology elective course. These visits are regularly organized as an out-of-class activity to enhance students' understanding of the subject.
The Molecular Biology course covers topics related to cytogenetic studies of the human genome and their medical applications. During the visit, students attended an informative lecture that introduced them to the main stages of cytogenetic research conducted at the Human Cytogenetics Department of IHSM.
Students also had the opportunity to examine various microscope slides showcasing structural and numerical chromosomal abnormalities in human karyotypes.
The visit was organized by Associate Professor Tatiana V. Kostritsyna, Ph.D. (Biology) from the Natural Sciences Department of IHSM and provided valuable practical insights into the field of human cytogenetics.
