IHSM Hosts Japanese Delegation for Strategic Discussion
October 1, 2024, the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) welcomed a delegation from Japan, consisting of representatives from the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Tekizaitekisho LLC, and Tokyo Medical and Dental University. The purpose of the visit was to discuss a collaborative project focused on the development of a satellite data and regional air pollution assessment system (SATREPS).

During the meeting, discussions centered on establishing an air pollution research center in Kyrgyzstan. The proposed center aims to enhance air pollution monitoring and evaluate its impacts on health and the economy. It will also focus on data visualization to raise public awareness and provide actionable recommendations for individuals. Furthermore, the center will develop comprehensive recommendations for government agencies by analyzing the social and economic implications of air pollution regulation proposals, facilitating better inter-agency collaboration through data-driven insights.
This initiative marks a significant step forward in addressing environmental health challenges in Kyrgyzstan, combining Japanese expertise and cutting-edge technology with local resources to improve air quality and safeguard public health.
