100 Years of the Otorhinolaryngology Service

From June 27 to 29, 2025, an International Congress dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Otorhinolaryngology Service of the Kyrgyz Republic was successfully held in Bishkek. The event also included the 4th International Congress of CWASOS — the Central and West Asian Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery.

The congress brought together leading specialists from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India, Turkey, Poland, and other countries. Participants discussed current issues in diagnostics, treatment, and new technologies in otorhinolaryngology. Special focus was given to the exchange of experience in areas such as otosurgery, rhinosinus surgery, voice disorders, pediatric ENT pathologies, cochlear implantation, and more.

A highlight of the congress was the presentation by Dr. Alfisa M. Orozalieva, Ph.D. (Medicine), Associate Professor and Lecturer at the Department of Special Clinical Disciplines of the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM), titled "What You Need to Know About the Singing Voice." In her talk, she emphasized the unique features of the vocal apparatus in singers and modern approaches to its diagnosis and protection — highly relevant both in medical practice and the field of phoniatrics.

The congress became a vivid example of international scientific collaboration and underscored the high level of the Kyrgyz otorhinolaryngology school. The event concluded with a festive gala dinner and a cultural program.
