A preventive event aimed at fostering anti-drug attitudes among students, improving legal literacy, and raising awareness about the consequences of illicit drug trafficking was held at International Higher School of Medicine. The event was organized with the participation of a representative of the Service for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic — Senior Operative Officer for Especially Important Cases of the Department for Prevention and Public Relations, Police Lieutenant Colonel Ismatova Umida Olimzhanovna.

Mambetova • Curator, Rinat kyzy Mairamgul As part of the event, a thematic presentation titled “Drugs and Modern Youth: Prevention, Threats, and Safety” was delivered.
The following issues were covered: • medical and social consequences of drug use, including negative effects on the central nervous system, cardiovascular system, and mental health; • risk factors contributing to youth involvement in drug use (peer pressure, stress, influence of the digital environment); • stages of addiction development and related threats to life and health;
Special attention was paid to legal aspects, including clarification of the concepts of “offense” and “liability,” as well as types of legal responsibility (disciplinary, administrative, civil, and criminal). The age thresholds for criminal liability in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic were also explained. To enhance the effectiveness of information delivery, preventive video materials illustrating the consequences of unlawful behavior and drug use were demonstrated during the event.
Following the event, students were provided with recommendations for safe behavior, including: • avoiding drug experimentation “out of curiosity”; • avoiding contact with suspicious individuals and groups; • seeking timely qualified assistance.
Additionally, information on available support services, including consultations with specialists and access to relevant institutions, was provided.
Such events are an important component of educational and preventive work aimed at preserving students’ health, preventing offenses, and fostering responsible civic behavior.
