On February 20-21, 2025, the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) conducted a training on fundraising as part of the European Commission’s Erasmus+ Project DEFA (Development of Financial Autonomy of Universities in the Kyrgyz Republic). The event aimed to enhance the skills of IHSM staff in securing funding, writing grant proposals, and attracting investments to support institutional development.

The training featured expert speakers, including Kenesh O. Dzhusupov, Head of the IHSM Public Health Department and Erasmus+ project coordinator; Chinara U. Adamkulova, Professor and expert in higher education reforms in Kyrgyzstan; and Vitaly A. Kopnov, Professor and member of the European Community of Innovative Educators (EFE) and member of IVETA. Participants gained insights into identifying funding opportunities, structuring effective grant applications, and implementing investment strategies tailored to higher education institutions.
