On April 11, 2025, students from the 3rd, 4th, and 8th semesters of the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM), together with Kyrgyz language lecturers from the Department of Humanities, visited the Kyrgyz National Academic Drama Theater named after T. Abydmomunov.
They had a unique opportunity to watch "Akyrky Kat" ("The Last Letter"), a heartfelt drama by Kairat Imanaliev that tells the touching story of Torokul and Nagima Aitmatov — the parents of the legendary writer Chyngyz Aitmatov. The performance was held in honor of the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region and the 120th anniversary of the Aitmatov family.
Despite the language barrier, our international students watched the play with genuine interest and were deeply moved by its emotional depth.
This experience was not only a meaningful step in learning the Kyrgyz language but also a wonderful immersion into the culture and theatrical art of Kyrgyzstan.
