The International Scientific and Practical Conference on the topic “World Literature and Philological Comparative Studies,” organized by the Department of World Literature of the 3rd English Language Faculty at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University, was held at a high level.
The conference was opened with a welcoming speech by the Rector of the university, Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, who emphasized the importance of contemporary research in the fields of world literature and comparative philology, as well as the relevance of developing international cooperation and exchanging academic experience.

Representing IHSM, R.J. Zaiyrkulova, Head of the State Language and Language Policy Department, delivered a scientific presentation. In her speech, she presented a comparative analysis of the Kyrgyz epic “Manas” and the Indian epic “Mahabharata,” highlighting their historical and cultural significance, ideological content, and shared spiritual values. Special attention was given to the themes of heroism, national identity, continuity of cultural traditions, and the role of epic works in preserving the cultural heritage of nations.
The presentation attracted considerable interest among the conference participants and contributed to the development of academic discussions in the field of comparative literature and intercultural studies.
