The 50-day countdown to the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026 was marked on 2 May 2026 by the Embassy of the Republic of India in the Kyrgyz Republic in collaboration with the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM), Cholpon-Ata, on the scenic shores of Lake Issyk-Kul.
Ambassador Singh, joined by Dr. Daniial Sh. Chyngyshpaev, Vice-Rector of Issyk-Kul Campus of IHSM, Ph.D.(Medicine), Dean Eliza T. Aidaralieva, and Sandhya Yellampalli, Coordinator for Issyk-Kul Campus, took part in the event, where approximately 100 students performed the Common Yoga Protocol. During his address, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of yoga in maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle and encouraged participants to take part in the upcoming IDY 2026 celebrations on 21 June 2026.
This annual yoga event, traditionally held at the Issyk-Kul campus, has become an important part of IHSM’s cultural and wellness activities. It is a great honour for the IHSM to maintain close and fruitful collaboration with the Embassy of India in the Kyrgyz Republic, strengthening ties through shared values of health, well-being, and cultural exchange.
