Choi Min Gon Awarded the Title of Honorary Professor of IHSM
The Rector of the International Higher School of Medicine, Stalbek Akhunbaev, D.Sc. (Medicine), Professor, awarded Choi Min Gon the title of Honorary Professor of IHSM on May 14, 2026, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to healthcare, education, and charitable activities.
Since 1996, Choi Min Gon has been one of the key sponsors of the “Milal” Foundation, providing financial assistance to children with heart diseases around the world.
For his many years of dedicated service in the field of education and humanitarian support, he has been awarded the Honorary Certificate of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as a Certificate of Honor from the Bishkek City Hall.
From 2011 to 2026, more than 550 children in Kyrgyzstan received financial support through the cardiac surgery foundation.
During the same period, 30 children from Kyrgyzstan with severe congenital heart diseases underwent life-saving surgeries in Korea. The expenses for each child — including treatment, accommodation, and round-trip airfare — amounted to approximately 40,000 USD.
