Roundtable on "Issues of Teaching Kyrgyz Language as a Foreign Language in Higher Educational Institutions"
On February 12, 2025, a roundtable on the topic "Issues of Teaching Kyrgyz Language as a Foreign Language in Higher Educational Institutions" will be held at the clinical simulation center of the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM).
The event is organized with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic. The roundtable will be attended by Melis K. Murataliev, Chairman of the National Commission for the State Language and Language Policy under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Rasul Abazbek uulu, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as philologists, teachers, and experts from leading universities of the country.
The event will include presentations, exchange of experiences, and discussions on the development of standard programs and effective methods for teaching Kyrgyz as a foreign language, as well as the publication of textbooks and instructional materials.
The roundtable will be moderated by Arkarbek Zh. Mamytov, Head of the State Language Development Sector of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic. Welcome speeches will be delivered by Stalbek M. Akhunbaev, Rector of IHSM, and Orozali Zh. Uzakov, Vice-Rector for Science, State Language, and Language Policy at IHSM, DSc (Medicine), Professor.
Presentations will be delivered by the following lecturers: Nuriya N. Alymkulova, Head of the Humanities Department at IHSM; Elmira K. Abdyrasulova, Head of the Kyrgyz Language Department at the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I. Akhunbaev; Venera Turatbek kyzy, Coordinator of the Kyrgyz Language as a Foreign Language Department at Kyrgyz-Turkish “Manas” University; Jamila M.Tarpanbaeva, Kyrgyz Language Lecturer at the Department of Natural and Humanitarian Disciplines at the International Medical University; and Altynai Saydalieva, Head of the Department of Teaching Kyrgyz Language to Foreigners at the International University of Ala-Too.
The event will conclude with a discussion, the adoption of a resolution, and a concert program.
