On February 16, 2026, Rima Zh. Zaiyrkulova, Head of the State Language and Language Policy Department of the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM), together with 10th-semester student Sumedh Petkar, visited the Zamana studio of the UTRK TV channel for an official interview.
During the broadcast, they presented detailed information about the international festival “Kyrgyz Songs Performed by Foreign Students” — a patented cultural project first initiated and organized by IHSM among foreign students in Kyrgyzstan.
As part of the program, Sumedh Petkar performed a song in the Kyrgyz language, clearly demonstrating the results of IHSM’s educational work in teaching foreign students the Kyrgyz language, literature, and history.
This year, the annual festival will be hosted by Bishkek Humanities University named after K. Karasaev on February 20, 2026, at 13:00 at the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic named after T. Satylganov.
IHSM students are actively preparing to participate in the festival. We wish them every success and an excellent performance.
