IHSM Hosted the International Student Eco-Conference “Green Future Forum”

On April 22, 2026, the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM), in cooperation with the Go Green IHSM student eco-club of the Department of Humanities, organized the International Student Eco-Conference “Green Future Forum.”

The conference was dedicated to current issues of sustainable development, environmental responsibility, the formation of ecological culture, and the implementation of green initiatives in the educational environment. The event was also dedicated to Earth Day, celebrated worldwide every year on April 22, highlighting the importance of environmental protection and the need for collective action for a sustainable future.

The participants were welcomed by:

  • Rector of IHSM, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences S.M. Akhunbaev
  • Coordinator of the National Office of Erasmus+, G.R. Isaeva
  • Head of the Department of World Economy and International Management of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Associate Professor, Candidate of Economic Sciences R.A. Kerimbekova

The conference was organized within the framework of the ERASMUS+ GREEN KG project - “Green and Digital Universities for Sustainable Development of Kyrgyzstan” (Erasmus-EDU-2023-CBHE 101126755 – GREENKG).

Representatives of 10 universities of Kyrgyzstan took part in the conference:

  • Bishkek Medical Institute
  • International Higher School of Medicine

Within the forum, more than 33 student presentations were delivered on актуal environmental issues and modern challenges in the field of sustainable development.

The conference became an effective platform for exchanging experience, ideas, and opinions, as well as establishing new partnerships among students from various universities of the country.

A concert program featuring students of the Talents: The Arts- Club was prepared for the award ceremony.

In addition, as part of the eco-conference, the Department of Humanities held Green Week activities, including:

  • a waste sorting workshop;
  • eco movie night;
  • community clean-up events;
  • art exhibition;
  • competitions;
  • preparation of birdhouses for an environmental campaign.

The International Student Eco-Conference “Green Future Forum” was held at a high organizational and academic level, making an important contribution to the development of environmental education, student initiatives, and interuniversity cooperation in Kyrgyzstan.
