On March 23–24, 2026, a training session is being held at IHSM, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the founding of the world open resource — the encyclopedia “Wikipedia”, as well as to issues of editing and uploading articles.
The event is intended for IHSM staff responsible for the development of the state language and is aimed at developing participants’ practical skills in working with the “Wikipedia” platform.
The training began with a welcoming speech by the Head of the Department of the State Language and Language Policy Zayirkulova Rima Jenishovna.
Within the program, the Director of the Center for Encyclopedia and Terminology, Temirbek Ozgonushovich Osmonaliev, delivered a report on the role of Wikipedia in the development of the state language. The Chief Specialist of the Language Policy Department, Asylbek Kudayberdievich Orozov, presented information on key steps for using Wikipedia at the state level.
The practical part of the training is conducted by the Coordinator of the Kyrgyz Wikipedia, Elbek Bakhtiyarovich Khabibullaev, who is training participants in editing and uploading articles.
This training contributes to expanding the use of the state language, increasing the volume of high-quality content in the Kyrgyz language, and developing the digital competencies of specialists.
