Representatives of the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) have successfully completed in the “ORCID Community: KG Initiative,” a national project aimed at registering Kyrgyz researchers in the international ORCID system. This initiative enhances the global visibility of scholars and institutions by integrating their publications into leading databases such as Scopus and Web of Science. The project is supported by the ORCID Global Participation Fund and the University of Central Asia and focuses on expanding research impact through international collaboration and improved citation practices.
From December 17, 2024, to March 2, 2025, the project conducted a series of online webinars for faculty, researchers, and postgraduate students across Kyrgyzstan. In April and May 2025, in-person meetings will be held at participating universities, including IHSM, to finalize publication processes and provide further research support. The initiative also offers participants the opportunity to publish in Scopus-indexed journals and obtain certificates of professional development.
As a result 19 IHSM members completed the full training. During the international conference held at IHSM, project coordinator Dr. Gulnara Dzhunushalieva, Doctor of Business Administration and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Central Asia, presented certificates to the trained faculty, recognizing their dedication to enhancing academic excellence and contributing to the university’s global research presence.
