A delegation from the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) took part in the Smart Healthcare Sub-Forum of the China-Shanghai Organization (SCO) Forum on Digital Technology Development

International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) has taken a significant step toward advancing international collaboration in healthcare and medical education by signing a Letter of Intent with the Central Hospital of Karamay, located in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China.

The signing took place on June 18, 2025, as part of the Smart Healthcare Forum of the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Forum on Digital Technology Development, held at the Karamay Convention and Exhibition Center from June 17–19, 2025.

The IHSM delegation was led by Rector Professor Stalbek M. Akhunbaev, accompanied by Dr. Aibek M. Chakiev, Deputy Director of the University Hospital VEDANTA, and Alibek B. Chukuldukov, Specialist at the Department of International Affairs.

The Letter of Intent outlines mutual interest in exploring academic exchanges, clinical training, digital health innovation, and joint research initiatives. This partnership is expected to open new avenues for capacity building and technology integration in medical services across both institutions.
