World Diabetes Day

Internal and Family Medicine Department of the International Higher School of Medicine in cooperation with the Bishkek Railway Hospital held an event dedicated to World Diabetes Day on November 14, 2025. The event was organized by Associate Professor Satimkul B. Sulaimanov, PhD (Medicine), Associate Honored Doctor of the Kyrgyz Republic, Doctor of the Highest Category, and Dr. Chynar E. Askarova, MD, Assistant Professor.

The event featured an educational and practical program aimed at raising public awareness of diabetes mellitus and the early detection of prediabetic conditions. Participants included doctors from the Railway Hospital, family physicians, endocrinologists, as well as students of the International Higher School of Medicine.

One of the key components of the program was a screening study of fasting blood glucose levels. A total of 87 patients were examined. Under the guidance of experienced specialists, students measured blood sugar levels using a glucometer, monitored blood pressure, and practiced primary endocrinological consultation skills.

The practical part of the event enabled future doctors to deepen their knowledge in endocrinology, master glucose testing techniques, and gain valuable experience in patient interaction.

The organizers noted that such initiatives contribute to improving public health literacy and strengthening interdepartmental cooperation in the prevention of chronic diseases. The event was held in a productive and informative atmosphere, confirming its relevance and practical significance.
