On November 18, 2025, the International Higher School of Medicine held the preliminary defense of the PhD dissertation of doctoral graduate Hоssain Syed Azfar, Assistant of the Department of Introduction to Therapy and Family Medicine of IHSM. The dissertation topic is: «Ethnic and Social Determinants of Cardiovascular Diseases in Kyrgyzstan: Assessment of Risk Factors and Development of Recommendations Morbidity Reduction», within the field 561000 «Public Health and Medicine».
The preliminary defense was conducted in a hybrid format under the chairmanship of Dr. Ibragim S. Sabirov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, and Head of the Department of Therapy No. 2 of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin.
During his presentation, Hossain Syed Azfar presented the results of his research dedicated to the risk factors of cardiovascular diseases among various ethnic and social groups of the population of Kyrgyzstan.
The Jury members thoroughly reviewed the dissertation text and discussed the reviewers’ reports and expert evaluations.
Following an open vote, the dissertation was unanimously recommended for further defense for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
