IHSM delegation visited Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital (SRRSH), People’s Republic of China

On January 22, 2026, a delegation of the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM), led by Professor Stalbek M. Akhunbaev, Rector of IHSM, paid an official visit to the People’s Republic of China as part of efforts to strengthen international academic and clinical cooperation.

The IHSM delegation included Dr. Gulmira S. Biyalieva, D.Sc. (Medicine), Director of the IHSM University Hospital “Vedanta”; Dr. Aibek M. Chakiev, Ph.D. (Medicine), Vice-Director; and A. Chukuldukov, Specialist of the International Affairs Department.

As part of the visit, the delegation visited Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital (SRRSH), affiliated with the Zhejiang University School of Medicine, one of China’s leading medical institutions. The visit was introductory in nature and focused on familiarization with the hospital’s clinical infrastructure, medical technologies, and organizational practices.

During the meetings, the parties discussed prospects for future cooperation, including the exchange of professional experience, joint academic and clinical projects, and physician exchange programs. Special attention was given to opportunities for collaboration in medical education, clinical training, and research initiatives.

The visit marked an important step toward expanding IHSM’s international partnerships and laid the foundation for long-term collaboration with leading medical institutions in China, aimed at enhancing the quality of medical education and healthcare services.
