Immersing in the Language Environment

On April 11, 2025, a thematic introductory excursion to the “Vesna” trade center was organized for first-year students of Group 13.

The excursion was led by Saniyat A. Karimova, Vice-Head and Senior Lecturer of Russian Language at the Humanities Department.

Prior to the visit, the students had already studied the topic “At the Store” in class — they learned relevant vocabulary and practiced seller–buyer dialogues in pairs. The supermarket visit provided a great opportunity to apply their knowledge in a real-world setting.

The students began by walking through the store, exploring the range of products, and recalling vocabulary — naming food items, fruits, vegetables, and clothing in Russian. After that, each student selected an item and attempted a dialogue with the cashier.

This interactive format proved to be not only educational but also highly engaging.

Students gained valuable real-life communication experience, immersed themselves in the language environment, and deepened their understanding of local everyday culture.
