We are especially grateful to Professor Jelena Stankevičienė of Vilnius University for her insightful and highly relevant presentation titled “Sustainable Green Financial Decisions in Municipal Waste Management”, which sparked great interest and lively discussion among the participants.
Associate Professor Makhabat Karagulova also delivered a presentation on the topic: “Erasmus+ GREENKG — Green and Digital University for the Sustainable Development of Kyrgyzstan.”
We would like to particularly highlight the plenary address delivered by Professor Walter Leal of Hamburg University, who introduced the international initiative “Introducing the Interdisciplinary Expert Centre on Climate Change and Health (IECCCH).” His presentation was a key component of the conference's scientific program, emphasizing the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in addressing global challenges related to climate change and public health.
We also want to underscore the strong student engagement from consortium universities. More than 70 students participated in the student session of the conference, demonstrating high levels of involvement, creativity, and a desire to drive change. As part of the eco-competition held during the conference, 14 student teams from various universities competed, clearly illustrating youth interest in solving environmental issues. The competition results were as follows:
In his address announcing the conference resolution, Professor Stalbek M. Akhunbaev, Rector of the International Higher School of Medicine, emphasized the significance of student-led initiatives promoting ecological action and solutions in the context of climate change. He also expressed his appreciation for the active work of the regional university team from Naryn State University under the leadership of Professor Ermek Baybagyshev, noting it as a remarkable example of commitment and leadership in sustainability efforts.
The conference resolution proposed that such conferences be held regularly, focusing on current topics related to climate change, sustainable development, and environmental education. This decision reflects the academic community’s commitment to uniting efforts in response to the global challenges of our time.
