The International Mother Language Day was established by the decision of the 30th session of the General Conference of UNESCO in November 1999 and is celebrated anually on February 21since 2000 with the aim of preserving linguistic and cultural diversity.

On February 21, 2023, an event dedicated to Mother Language Day was held at the Department of Humanities.

The purpose of the event was to introduce students to new countries and languages. 

Students along with teachers, prepared a diverse program.

Countries such as Kyrgyzstan, Russia, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, South Korea, Uzbekistan, and the Latin language were represented at the event.

Also, the following teachers were awarded with IHSM achievement letters for their role in the competition "Reading Alykul," which was held on the National Literature Day of the Kyrgyz Republic:
