Contribution to the Сommunity
Kenesh O. Dzhusupov, Head of the Public Health Department, Ph.D.(Medicine), Assoc. Professor, participated at the round table held in Bishkek on September 20th, with participation from the Department of Strengthening Global Health of the Tokyo Medical and Dental University (Japan), International Faculty of Medicine of Osh State University, the Hydrometeorological Service under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Center for Electronic Health under the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Republican Center for Health Promotion and Mass Communications. The event addresses critical issues related to air pollution in Kyrgyzstan and its detrimental impact on public health.

The participants discussed plans to develop a campaign strategy aimed at combating air pollution in urban environments within Kyrgyzstan. This strategy is intended to address the alarming health consequences of air pollution in the region.
The future objectives of the project involve conducting an assessment of the impact of air pollution on public health. This assessment will utilize data from the modernized national air pollution monitoring system and data from the e-Health Center under the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic. The findings from this assessment will be used to develop recommendations for organizations and agencies interested in improving air quality and reducing its adverse effects on health, the environment, and the economy.
Collaborative efforts of both Kyrgyzstan and Japan in addressing air pollution are aimed at reducing the negative consequences of air pollution and improving the well-being of the population. The project emphasizes the importance of data-driven approaches to understand and combat air pollution's impact on public health.
As part of the project, IHSM with local partners and partners from Japan aims to create a system for assessing air pollution based on satellite data and regional chemical transport modeling. Additionally, they plan to establish a center for the study of air pollution (IRCAPS) at Osh State University. This center will play a crucial role in monitoring and analyzing air quality.
