Russian as a Foreign Language

The course “Russian as a Foreign Language” aims to develop foreign students’ communicative, linguistic, and cultural competences necessary for successful learning and daily interaction in a Russian-speaking environment. The program focuses on improving listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, as well as understanding the basics of Russian grammar, vocabulary, and phonetics.

Particular attention is given to speech patterns used in academic and professional contexts, which help students adapt to the educational process and life in Kyrgyzstan.

Course Goal:
To develop students’ ability to use the Russian language effectively in academic and everyday communication, and to foster intercultural interaction and understanding of cultural aspects of Russian speech.

Main Topics:
* Phonetics and pronunciation of Russian sounds;
* Vocabulary and grammar for everyday communication;
* Academic speech: oral answers, presentations, and note-taking;
* Russian culture, traditions, and speech etiquette;
* Written communication: essays, forms, and official letters.

Learning Outcomes:
After completing the course, students will be able to understand spoken and written Russian, maintain dialogue in academic and social situations, read and produce texts of various genres, and use the Russian language in professional and academic activities. For students majoring in “General Medicine”
