Histology

Histology with cytology and embryology is an indispensable and most important link in the system of biomedical sciences, providing fundamental theoretical knowledge and certain practical skills, on the basis of which the future doctor is trained.

Histology and cytology are currently an important part of medical education. Knowledge of the structure and activity of tissues and cells obtained in the course of cytology and general histology is necessary for the subsequent mastering of a private histology course. They create the basis for the study of other fundamental biomedical disciplines (physiology, biochemistry, pathological physiology, pathological anatomy, immunology).

At the same time, an understanding of the causes, mechanisms and consequences of diseases is increasingly getting based on knowledge of the histology, ultrastructure and biology of the cell. Therefore, the correct understanding of the structural and functional organization of human cells, tissues and organs, as well as their participation in the most important mechanisms of biological processes, creates the basis for understanding the pathogenesis and morphogenesis of human diseases. Thus, histology and cytology provide the necessary basis for the successful development of clinical subjects, and play the role of integrative sciences, linking biomedical and clinical disciplines, and contribute to the formation of medical thinking.
