The task of the Department of Childhood Infectious Diseases is to train doctors who have modern methods of diagnostics, treatment and prevention of children’s infectious diseases, taking into account age, anatomical and physiological characteristics and immunological reactivity in different periods of life.
The study of childhood infectious diseases includes teaching the most common infectious diseases in children, their typical manifestations, classification of clinical forms, emergency syndromes, the necessary modern diagnostic methods, the principles of treatment of infectious diseases in hospital and at home, as well as clinical chek-ups. When studying infectious diseases for children, it is necessary to pay attention to the organization of the registration of infectious patients, the creation of conditions for hospitalization, the prevention of nosocomial infections, the specific prevention of infectious diseases, and monitoring contact persons.
In a practical lesson, students should master the skills necessary for the diagnostics and treatment of children with infectious diseases. In the learning process, it is necessary to show a greater number of various forms of infectious diseases in children, to conduct supervision of patients with subsequent analysis.
