The mail concept the course on Medical Biology is the formation of general theoretical system knowledge among students in the field of biology. The study of the biological laws and processes occurring at all levels of the biological organization: molecular genetic, cellular, ontogenetic, population contributes to the understanding of a systematic approach to the study of a living organism. Integration the discoveries and achievements of biological, cellular & gene technologies; parasitology to medical clinical practice.
The goal of the course is to develop in students a comprehensive understanding of living nature, its patterns, and processes at various levels of biological organization (molecular, cellular, organismal, population-species, and biospheric).
The course aims to develop the ability to: • understand biological phenomena and interconnections in nature; • apply acquired knowledge in scientific, medical, ecological, and professional activities; • foster a responsible attitude toward living nature and human health.
After study of the discipline the student must: Know: the subject of medical biology; formatting of students' knowledge of the theory of medicine on the basis of general biological laws discovered at the molecular, cellular and systemic levels of the organization of nature; the main concepts and mechanisms of biological processes occurring at all levels of the biological organization, affecting the level of preservation of public health.
Be able to: apply theoretical, methodological and practical skills in medical biology, genetics and parasitology to study the basic concepts of practical medicine. Apply theoretical knowledge from the field of medical biology for the treatment and implementation of preventive measures among the population.
