Topographical anatomy

In the curriculum of medical universities, an important emphasis is put on the department of topographic anatomy, which ensures the continuity of the teaching of general theoretical and clinical disciplines. At the department, students acquire specific topographic knowledge necessary to substantiate the diagnosis, understand the pathogenesis of the disease, possible complications, the mechanisms of development of compensatory processes, as well as choose the most rational methods of surgical treatment.

In the system of training a doctor, topographic anatomy occupies an extremely important place, creating the basis for the transition from theoretical training of students to the practical application of knowledge acquired at a university.

Topographic anatomy gives an idea of the relative position and relationship of the organs with each other, which the doctor uses when developing a diagnosis or a surgery plan.
