From May 19 to 22, 2026, the international congress EuroPCR 2026 was held at the Palais des Congrès de Paris (Paris, France), recognized as one of the world’s largest and most prestigious events in the field of interventional cardiology.
In 2026, the congress brought together more than 12,000 participants, over 1,000 international experts and speakers, and included more than 500 educational sessions and 800 hours of scientific programme. The event featured numerous clinical cases, abstracts, late-breaking trials, and innovative projects presented by leading specialists from around the world.
The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic, led by the Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Damir Osmonov, included:
— Chyngyz Maksutov, Head of the Cardiology Department at Vedanta Medical Clinic of the International Higher School of Medicine and Assistant Professor at the Department of Cardiac Surgery and Radiology of IHSM;
— interventional cardiologist Kairat Osmonaliev from the Cardiology Center.
During the congress, the Kyrgyz delegation participated in an international collaboration between France, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan focused on the treatment of calcified coronary artery disease.
In addition, Chyngyz Maksutov served as moderator of a scientific session dedicated to contemporary approaches in coronary calcium modification.
A clinical case report from Vedanta Medical Clinic authored by Chyngyz Maksutov, D.U. Malaev, and A.Sh. Midinov was presented in the Digital Hub EuroPCR section.
Importantly, this marked the first participation of the Kyrgyz Republic at EuroPCR with the presentation of its own clinical case report.
During an international meeting with the leadership of EuroPCR and representatives of national cardiology societies, opportunities for organizing EuroPCR Seminars in the Kyrgyz Republic were also discussed.
Participation of IHSM representatives in EuroPCR 2026 reflects the university’s growing integration into the international medical and scientific community.
