From May 19 to May 24, 2025, the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) is holding a Molecular Biology Olympiad organized by Tatyana V. Kostritsyna, Ph.D. in Biology and Acting Associate Professor of the Natural Sciences Disciplines Department.
The Olympiad consists of three stages:
1st Round: Qualifying Round
The qualifying round took place on May 19. A total of 37 students from the 4th and 5th semesters participated. Based on the results, 11 top-performing students from the 4th semester advanced to the next stages of the Olympiad.
2nd Round: Theoretical Test
The second round will be held on May 21 and will assess students’ theoretical knowledge of molecular biology.
3rd Round: Practical Laboratory Work
The final round will take place on May 24 in the Biochemistry Laboratory of the Department of Fundamental Disciplines at the Morphological Campus of IHSM. It will consist of two practical assignments designed to evaluate participants’ laboratory skills.
The Olympiad aims to encourage academic excellence and stimulate student interest in molecular biology through competitive and practical learning experiences.
