Monitoring Visit to BERNICA Project Partners in Tajikistan

As part of the Erasmus+ project BERNICABuilding Educational and Research Capacities in Nutrition and Dietetics in Central Asia, a monitoring visit was conducted to partner universities in Tajikistan. From May 12 to 16, 2025, Dr. Kenesh O. Dzhusupov, Project Coordinator, Ph.D. (Medicine), Associate Professor and Head of the Department at the International Higher School of Medicine (Kyrgyzstan), visited Avicenna Tajik State Medical University (May 12–15) and Khatlon State Medical University (May 15–16).

The purpose of the visit was to inspect the implementation of BERNICA educational modules, assess the functionality of nutrition laboratories, and review the financial documentation related to the project at both institutions. Dr. Dzhusupov held meetings with the local project teams to discuss the progress made, challenges faced, and upcoming activities, including the preparation of the project’s final report.

The BERNICA project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, is aimed at strengthening education and research in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics in Central Asia. The project supports the training of teaching staff and the development and implementation of innovative educational modules at undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels across eight medical universities in the region.
