Science and education play a pivotal role in the sustainable development of society. For universities in Central Asia, strengthening research capacity and introducing modern educational practices is not only a timely response to global challenges but also an opportunity to build a solid foundation for future growth.

The BERNICA project (Building Educational and Research Capacity in Nutrition in Central Asia) has been focused on enhancing the research base of universities in the region, implementing innovative teaching methods, and expanding international collaboration. Over the course of the project, new courses have been developed, faculty trainings conducted, digital tools introduced, and strong partnerships established between universities in Central Asia and the European Union.

Conference Objectives:
  • Presentation of the project results and their contribution to the development of educational and research programs;
  • Exchange of experiences among partner universities and discussion of the sustainability of achieved outcomes;
  • Demonstration of how strengthening research capacity contributes to the integration of the region into the global scientific community.
The conference program will feature:
  • Key results and achievements of the BERNICA project;
  • Experiences of introducing innovative teaching methods at partner universities;
  • Recommendations for the sustainable development of educational programs after the project’s completion;
  • Discussion of future perspectives for international cooperation in higher education.
