The massive transition to online education gives students an unprecedented opportunity to complete their studies at the university on their own terms. In addition to the unique benefits, online learning is an adaptation to changing time periods.

Despite the apparent ease, the development of professional educational platforms, virtual learning environments caused problems for students. Studying online, the students are less likely to interact with teachers and other students face-to-face.

Students, therefore, experience psychological, moral, physical difficulties, along with technical ones. The open lecture “How to study online” took place on April 15, 2020 in the online format on the Zoom conference platform. The organizer was the European representative office of the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov - Modern Education & Research Institute. As a keynote speaker, Eric Nurmoldin, Dean of the Physics and Technology Faculty of LN Gumilyov ENU, was invited.

52 participants attended the webinar room including representatives of International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) Nazgul Ryskulbekova, Humanities Department, Shaiyrkul Kasmambetova – Head of the Macro and Micro Anatomy, and Ajar Sultanova, Department of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and another 74 watched the live event broadcast on Youtube.

The geography of participants included universities from Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan), Eastern Europe (Belarus, Russia, Ukraine), the Caucasus (Georgia, Armenia), as well as the European Union (Latvia, Lithuania).
