CARDIOSURGERY AND INVASIVE METHODS OF DIAGNOSTICS AND TREATMENT - (ELECTIVE COURSE)

The course in "Cardiac Surgery and Invasive Methods of Diagnostics and Treatment" is a must for senior students of the IHSM. In the initial courses, students received the basic knowledge that is necessary for the study of clinical disciplines. Knowledge of anatomy and pathological anatomy, physiology and pathological physiology, operative surgery and topographic anatomy, the fundamentals of medical communication and deontology and other knowledge serve as the basis for understanding the essence of diseases, diagnostics, diagnosing, treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

Cardiovascular diseases largely determine morbidity, mortality and labor losses. Mortality as to diseases of the cardiovascular system remains high and ranks first in the world. In turn, cardio-surgical and invasive methods of treatment are the most rapidly developing branches of medicine, the use of which in practical medical activities allows to increase the survival of patients with congenital and acquired diseases of the cardiovascular system. Based on the foregoing, students in the field of "General Medicine" master this course to gain knowledge in the described area, and can also use the studied methods along with conservative methods of therapy for diseases of the cardiovascular system.
