AIDS awareness day at the IHSM

On the occasion of World AIDS Day, December 1, 2022, International Student Network – Tunduk (ISN-Tunduk) organized an awareness event  in collaboration with the students of I.K.Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy and Salymbekov University.

The event started with an informational walk from Medical Clinic of the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) “Vedanta” to the main campus, distributing  AIDS awareness posters to the local people.

The IHSM faculty members Dr. Cholpon  T. Sulaimanova  and Dr. Tariel Zh. Zakirov were invited to the event as  speakers.

World AIDS Day remains as relevant today as it’s always been, reminding people and governments that HIV has not gone away.

In Kyrgyzstan, 12,039 people  have been identified to date, the Republican AIDS Center reported.

11,344 infected are citizens of Kyrgyzstan and 695 are foreign citizens.

Sexual transmission of HIV infection prevails in the country, whereas the greatest number of infections is registered among persons from 25 to 45 years. Every sixth sick person is a man.

Our students say NO to AIDS and Yes to  good HEALTH.
