The Modern Education and Research Institute (MERI) is located in the capital of the European Union – Brussels and  it is engaged in research of innovations in education in the EU and the USA  and provides support to universities in the implementation of world educational technologies and approaches.

The mission of the Modern Education & Research Institute is to contribute to the implementation of the concept of internationalization and to support teachers and university administrations in modernizing their activities through the introduction of modern approaches to higher education in a global context, as well as in recognizing and timely adaptation to changes in the global social and academic environment.

The agreement on membership of the IHSM and the MERI  Institute, No. 6MEM/2021 dated June 07, 2021 was concluded for a period of one year, thus being the first  university in Kyrgyzstan.

Results of cooperation between the IHSM and MERI

◾ IHSM faculty members participated in two streams of the advanced training program "Modernization of the professional activities of a university teacher", (72 hours) from September 06 to 28, 2021 and from February 08 to February 28, 2022.
This PC program aims to develop the digital skills needed for teaching in a blended and online format. The classes were held online.

◾Joint advanced training program of the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov and the European Representative Office of the University Modern Education & Research Institute "Teaching in times of crisis or crisis of teaching" was held online from April 25 to May 20, 2022.

◾Virtual academic exchange program for students (residents, undergraduates) of the IHSM, the goals of which are to increase intercultural awareness; formation of competencies of global citizenship; development of skills required in the labor market: digital skills (the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively online), knowledge of a foreign language, communication skills, media literacy and the ability to work in a multicultural context.

Possible areas for further cooperation with the Modern Education & Research Institute (MERI)

◾Conducting scientific internships and international academic exchanges for students of MERI member universities.
◾Assistance in the participation of employees and students of MERI member universities in academic and scientific exchange programs based on EU universities - continuation of cooperation on the virtual academic exchange program for residents and undergraduates of the IHSM, as well as the best students of the specialty.
◾Development of cooperation with EU universities. Representation of MERI Member Universities on major academic platforms in Europe - in order to promote the IHSM brand and develop joint educational programs at the levels of postgraduate education.
◾Invitation of EU experts to participate in events and programs of MERI Member Universities - lectures by visiting professors for students.
◾Publication of articles by teachers and students of MERI member universities in “The Scientific Journal of the Modern Education & Research Institute” – both for IHSM teaching staff and IHSM students.
◾Publication of materials about MERI Member Universities in the European press - in order to search for and promote academic mobility programs, internship opportunities for students, faculty and administrative staff of the IHSM.
