National Ranking of Higher Education Institutions in Kyrgyzstan

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic has released the results of its National Ranking of Higher Education Institutions in Kyrgyzstan. This pioneering study marks a significant step in evaluating the quality and performance of universities across the nation.

Universities were assessed based on six comprehensive criteria:

  • Academic reputation
  • Employer assessment
  • Quality of teaching
  • Science citation index
  • Ratio of foreign faculty members
  • Ratio of foreign students

In a notable achievement, the International Higher School of Medicine secured the top position (1st place)  in the Science Citation Index Ranking. This specific criterion utilizes data from Scopus, the largest abstract and bibliographic database, to evaluate the research output. The ranking is determined by calculating the number of scientific publications registered in Scopus over the last five years and dividing this by the number of full-time faculty members.

The ranking included participation from 27 universities across Kyrgyzstan, reflecting a broad spectrum of academic disciplines and research capabilities.

We are proud of our rank in the Science Citation Index and are committed to striving for even greater achievements in the future.
