Reading the works of Aitmatov
On November 16, 2023, the International University of Kyrgyzstan hosted a festival for foreign students in Kyrgyzstan titled "Reading the Works of Aitmatov," dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the great Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov.
The festival aimed to increase the interest of foreign students in the Kyrgyz language, acquaint them with the culture, traditions, and oral folk art of the Kyrgyz people, and promote the Kyrgyz language through the reading of Aitmatov's works.
IHSM was represented at the festival by the following students:
- Nandini Gajanan Rane, Semester-7, Group-12, a member of the "Talents" arts club
- Zainab Hasib, Semester-3, Group-26
- Hasti Laljibhai Barvaliya, Semester-3, Group-9
- Rizvi Alina Aashi Hussain, Semester-4, Group-7
- Khatik Mohammed Zaki Mastan, Semester-7, Group-28
Nandini Gajanan Rane secured the 2nd prize for her performance of the song "Ысык Колду сагынуу," while Zainab Hasib earned the 3rd prize for her monologue "Mankurt."
The winners and participants received diplomas and valuable prizes, along with certificates for their active participation in the event.
