Surgical Olympiad for 7th-semester students

The International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) hosted a Surgical Olympiad for 7th-semester students, held at the Department of Surgery on November 13, 2024.

This esteemed competition saw 10 teams, each consisting of 4 students, challenge themselves in a series of four rigorous tasks: knot tying, desmurgy, suturing, and theoretical tests.

The Olympiad was formally opened with words of encouragement and wisdom from IHSM’s respected faculty, including Professor and Doctor of Medical Sciences, the first Rector of IHSM, Shamil M. Chyngyshpaev, along with the Head of the Surgery Department, Ph.D. Associate Professor Turar A. Ermekov, and Vice Head of Department, Ph.D. Aziz Y. Aisaev.

Our dedicated team of judges, including esteemed faculty members Matmuratov A.A., Ermekov, Mambetkalieva Z.S., Osmonov B.A., Aliev T.H., Shadykanov A.B., Kalygulov E.T., Ryspekov B.Z., and Momunaliev J.T., evaluated the students based on their precision, technique, and knowledge.

The Surgical Olympiad was expertly organized by Anarbaeva A.A., a respected instructor in the Department of Surgery, whose efforts brought this event to life, fostering excellence and skill development among our future medical professionals.
