The opening ceremony of the Belt and Road International Medical Education Alliance (BRIMEA) and the 2^nd International Summit Forum on Higher Education took place in Shenyang, China on 25-28 May 2018.

BRIMEA convened 48 medical universities from countries including China, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Thailand,  The Philippines, Romania, Turkey, Ukraine and many other countries. It will help to build up an academic exchange platform for medical education experts to make the in-depth exchange and collaboration between member institutions to embrace the challenges in the new era making contributions to overall reform and development of medical education in countries along the Belt and Road.

Сhairman of Board of Trustees of International University of Kyrgyzstan, Academician of the Kyrgyz National Academy of Science, Professor Aidaraliev A.A. was elected as a Vice-Chairman  of BRIMEA and  took part in the endorsement of 3 documents: The Charter of the “Belt and Road” International Medical Education (BRIMEA), the Memorandum of Understanding on Exchange and Collaboration among Members of the “Belt & Road” International Medical Education (BRIMEA), and the Shenyang Consensus.

All the members of BRIMEA (China Medical University, University of Philippines Manila, International University of Kyrgyzstan, North American Federation of latrology Society, Nanjing Medical University, Xi`An Jiaotong University Health Sciences Center, Harbin Medical University, Southern Medical University and etc)  signed Memorandum of Understanding to integrate experience in medical education, advanced technology and superior resources, strengthen cooperation in the field of higher medical education, curriculum reforms and teaching innovation, and jointly improve the overall level of medical education, moreover establish short and long-term study programs.
