To enhance the research potential of the university within the framework of Goal 2, "Innovative Research Transformation," of the Roadmap for the Transformation of Professional Education into the "University 4.0" model, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, training seminars for the faculty of the International Higher School of Medicine were held from April 24 to June 7, 2024.

Topics of the seminars:

1. "Methodology of Scientific Research, Statistical Data Processing," Trainer: Sorokin A.A., Head of the Center for Innovative Learning Methods and Knowledge Transfer at the Institute of Mountain Physiology and Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
2. "Key Principles of Academic Writing," Trainer: Mohammad Bagher Rokni, MSPH, MPH, PhD, Professor of the Department of Medical Parasitology and Mycology, School of Public Health and Research Institute of Public Health, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, Editor of the Iranian Journal of Public Health (indexed in SCIE, SCOPUS, Thomson/ISI, and other databases).

The seminar program included the following topics:

1. Methodology of Scientific Research
2. Statistical Data Processing
3. Working with SPSS
4. Scientific Publications (methodology, presentation of publications, structure of publications, journal selection, useful software, etc.)
5. Plagiarism and Other Violations in Medical Journalism (examples of plagiarism, scientific methods for detecting plagiarism, discussion of other violations such as Double Submission, Redundancy, Salami publication, Meat expander, IMALAS, etc.)
6. Managing Scientific Data Using EndNote
7. Preparation and Publication of Scientific Articles
8. Working with Thomson Reuters Resources and Databases such as Science Direct and Scopus
9. Consultations on Writing and Formatting Scientific Papers for Publication in Impact Factor Journals
10. Principles of Editing Scientific Publications (methodology, presentation of publications, structure of publications, useful software, etc.)
11. Indexing Journals and Their Promotion
12. Presentation in Thomson ISI
13. Introduction to PubMed, PMC, Medline, Scopus, EMBASSE, IMEMR, Copernicus Index, DOAJ, ISC, SID, EBSCO, and Other Authentic Databases
14. Metric Systems for Scientific Journalism, such as Impact Factor, H-index, SJR, etc.

The seminars received positive feedback from the participants, who highlighted the high quality and relevance of the presented material, as well as the professionalism and competence of the trainers.

The seminars marked a significant step in enhancing the qualifications and strengthening the research capabilities of the faculty at the International Higher School of Medicine, contributing to the development of scientific research and academic culture.
