Every single person in the world has the capacity to save a life - it is an essential gesture of solidarity. First Aid education should be accessible to all (Grace Lo).

Student Council of International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) organized the First Aid workshop on 25th February 2020 in collaboration with the Asian Medical Students Association Kyrgyzstan (AMSA.KG) and Department of Surgery at the university clinic Vedanta of IHSM, Bishkek.

Students of different medical institutions had an opportunity to participate in the workshop to strengthen their theoretical, as well as practical skills and knowledge on the following abilities:

• understand their new responsibilities of an occupational First Aider;

• provide appropriate treatment for the purpose of saving a life,

• minimize the consequences of injury until the arrival of medical assistance,

• provide appropriate treatment for an injury which does not require the attention of a medical practitioner or nurse,

• get familiar with health & safety legislation on first aid in the workplace.

The administration of IHSM expresses its gratitude to the members of the Student Council and AMSA KG for organizing such a beneficial workshop for students.
